At Girls Scouts, the mission is to build girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place. Ride proceeds will support the transformation of Camp Furnace Hills and enable local troops to develop outdoor skills, a key pillar of Girl Scout Leadership.
Girl Scouts in the Heart of Pennsylvania has embarked on an ambitious plan to restore one of the historic camps within its multi-county footprint. Due to the generous donations of passionate supporters, more than $1.5 Million has been raised for this transformation. The first milestone was the reconstruction of the historic Foxfire Barn, previously destroyed in a tornado. This spring, two Conestoga wagons (sleeping cabins) were added, offering girls a true pioneer experience.
The next stage is the addition of a dinning hall and kitchen currently not available at the camp, intended to fully support overnight experiences. Your contributions will help make this possible.
We are part of a group of women within the Lititz Crew, a club founded on the premise of using cycling to socialize with fellow riders in the area. We ride during the week and weekends throughout spectacular Lancaster County. Here we are with our "besties" on one of our many epic rides.
I am Mary Pochobradsky and have the privilege of serving on the board for Girls Scouts in the Heart of Pennsylvania. I am a former athlete, a lover of the outdoors with a long career in consumer goods marketing. I'm a strong believer in the Girl Scout mission and especially the leadership pillars: Outdoors, Entrepreneurship, Life Skills, and STEM.
I am Dalanna Haldeman. I was a Girl Scout, went to Camp Furnace Hills as a child, and was a troop leader. I was born and raised in Lancaster County. I'm passionate about all things Girls Scouts having experienced the impact on my own life. On our first ride together, Mary and I rode up Furnace Hill and along Girls Scout Rd., passing right by Camp Furnace Hills!!
We will ride rain or shine. Dress for the weather. See you at camp!
